Talk about following in some footsteps. Ģ����Ƶ’s Dan Hunt matched his mentor Dick Biddle here Saturday when the Raiders outlasted Lehigh 49–42 to clinch the Patriot League championship. Hunt and Biddle both captured Patriot League titles for Ģ����Ƶ in just their second seasons as head coach.

Ģ����Ƶ student-athletes improved by one position to third nationally in the latest NCAA Division I Graduation Success Rate release. The Raiders for the fourth straight year are at 98 percent, placing Ģ����Ƶ alongside peer schools Columbia, Davidson, Duke, Harvard, Holy Cross, Loyola-Chicago, Notre Dame, Princeton, Stanford, and Yale.

Ģ����Ƶ senior hockey defenseman Spiro Goulakos has been selected as one of 20 candidates for the 2014-15 Senior Class Award. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – community, classroom, character and competition. Ģ����Ƶ recently released a practice protocol designed to limit head injuries in sports. Expanding on the idea, athletics director Victoria Chun ’91 MA ’94 wrote an op-ed called “There Is No Neat Solution For Head Injuries in Sport” for the Huffington Post.

As more data becomes available about the long-term dangers of sports-related head injuries, Ģ����Ƶ is implementing a strategy to minimize general contact as well as contact to the head experienced by student-athletes during practice sessions.
